Dr Sun Yat-sen studied in the Government Central School. It is the first government secondary school providing Western education in Hong Kong.
The Government Central School was founded in 1862 as the first government secondary school providing a Western education in Hong Kong, and it produced many bilingual members of the territory’s elite who were enlightened by modern knowledge and held both Chinese and Western perspectives. Dr Sun Yat-sen enrolled in the upper classes of the school on 15 April 1884 and graduated in 1886.
This is a re-created doorway which was vanished long ago, through which led to the horizons of western civilisation, education, history and knowledge.
